    French Writer philosopher, essayist, and art critic.

  1933 Moved to Paris with his mother to his grandparents home.

  1939 Moved to Peyrat-le-Chateau, near Limoges with his grandmother.

  1943 Meets Raoul Hausmann, a refugee in the same village.
    Worked with the Resistance.

  1947 Writes to Andre Breton; joins the Surrealists.
     Provided text for the exhibition catalogue of Le Surrealisme en 1947 at Galerie Maeght.

  1948 Expelled from the group for defending Roberto Matta and Victor Brauner.
     He went on to become an expert on their work.

  1949 Visits Francis Picabia.

  1959 m. Madeleine Novarina (died 1991).

  1981? Publishes Georges Henein in the poets of yesterday series.

  1990? Published his memoirs L'Adventure en soi.

  2009? d. Sept. 11th. in Ivry-sur-Seine, France.
