Adon Lacroix, who introduced him to the Inspirations of Les Chants de Maldoror as well as Rimbaud, and Baudelaire, Mallarme and Guillaume Apollinaire. 1915 First solo show -> of paintings and drawings at The Daniel Gallery. Begins to record his own work on camera. Founded the group Others with Alfred Kreymborg ->. 1917 One of the forces behind The Society of Independent Artists, together with Walter Arensberg. 1918 He produced his first significant photographs. Ferdinand Howard begins collecting Man Ray's work and becomes his patron. 1919 Single issue of TNT; Adolf Wolff, Adon Lacroix, Walter Arensberg, Marcel Duchamp, and Philippe Soupault. 1919 Separated from Adon whom he formally divorced in 1937 ==1920's== 1920 object ->> The Riddle of Isidore Ducasse with inspirations from Lautreamont. Film Self Portrait with Lee, which remained in his possession until his death. Tanja Ramm models for him (See ->). Contributed to Le Surrealisme au service de la revolution. They later go to Barcelona. 1934 Observatory time, the lovers - a hommage to Lee Miller.
