   1912 b. May 7th. in Altoona, Pennsylvania 
      Historian, Editor, Diver, Photographer, Writer.

   1946 Henri Cartier-Bresson and his wife Ratna stayed in a railroad apartment 
      belonging to James Dugan, located almost under the Queensboro Bridge New York.
      April 19th. m. Ruth Mae Lonergan, whom he met while she was a WAC in London 
      during the war. 

   1953 Christmas Max Ernst, Dorothea Tanning,  Antony Penrose, 
     Diane Deriaz,Caroline Eluard, Dominique Eluard Antony Penrose, 
     Valentine Penrose, Timmie O'Brian, Terry O'Brian, Patsy Murray, Paula Murray, 
     Lee Miller, Roland Penrose.

      Much of his writing in the 1950s and 1960s concerns underwater exploration 
      with Captain Jacques Cousteau, the French scientist and television producer. 
      He wrote The Great Iron Ship (1953), which detailed the laying of the trans-Atlantic cable.
