1916 February 5th. Cafe Voltaire was founded at a small cafe in the Spiegelstrasse in Zurich by Hugo Ball, Richard Huelsenbeck, Tristan Tzara Emmy Hennings Jean Arp, Marcel Janco, and Sophie Taeuber. This was the beginning of Dada. May 15th. Publication of the review "Cabaret Voltaire" created by Hugo Ball with texts by Guillaume Apollinaire, Blaise Cendrars, Marinetti and reproductions of Amedeo Modigliani, Pablo Picasso and Wassily Kandinsky with a cover signed by Jean Arp.
