1925 Georges Bataille, Michel Leiris, Andre Masson and Nicolai Bakhtine ->. considered forming a Nietzschean 'orphic' secret society called Judas. 1935 Origins in Contre Attaque 1936 - 1939 Acephale was a review of a secret society founded by Georges Bataille. 1936 June 24th. First issue was composed of only eight pages ->. The cover was illustrated with a drawing by Andre Masson; also included Pierre Klossowski ->. 2nd. Edition - Pierre Klossowski, Jean Wahl ->. 3rd. Edition - Roger Caillois, Pierre Klossowski, Jules Monnerot. 4th. Edition - Roger Caillois, Pierre Klossowski, Jules Monnerot. Bataille signs most of the texts. There were Nocturnal meetings in the woods. Members of the society were invited to meditate, on texts of Nietzsche, Freud, Sade and Mauss, read during the assemblies.
